Army IgnitED TA Process

All Army soldiers must follow the below steps to utilize Army TA with CSU Global. Please note that in addition to initial steps that need to be taken, each term requires action to utilize TA.  Do not use the the "Add Course" feature to manually add a course in IgnitED - this is for courses outside of your home school and it will result in a rejection for the course.

We are doing all we can to comply with guidance and instructions from the ArmyIgnitED team and continue to adjust as new updates occur. We are all working to understand the new system, the requirements and our roles within the system, and appreciate continued patience as we all wait for the new system to be fully functional.

Request an Education Path in ArmyIgnitED
Your education path title may not match your actual program name. Please refer to the linked list to select your appropriate education path to avoid an education path rejection and a delay in processing.

Step 3

Request Student Degree Plan (SDP) Upload
Email military.benefits@csuglobal to request your SDP upload after completing Steps 1 & 2. College uploads to ArmyIgnitED may take up to 5 business days.

Please note: Your Student Degree Plan does NOT generate courses for you to select funding. You must move request your terms course(s) to be uploaded as outlined in Step #2 below.

If you change programs or specializations, or add a specialization, you must request a new Student  Degree Plan Upload.

Step 1

Register for the Term - you cannot proceed to Step 2 until this is complete
If you would like to utilize Army TA funding, you must register for classes at least 11 days in advance of the start date. Reach out to your enrollment counselor (new students) or student success counselor (continuing students) if you need assistance registering.

Step 2

Request Course Enrollment Upload
You MUST be registered for classes before requesting your course enrollment upload. Course enrollment uploads must be requested at least 11 days prior to class start date & no earlier than 60 days prior to start date.

Email military.benefits@csuglobal to request your course enrollment upload, which will allow you to request funding in ArmyIgnitED. College uploads to ArmyIgnitED may take up to 5 business days.


A Request for Course Enrollment Upload is required for each term, as well as any time you change a course  once your enrollments have been reported to the Army. Remember: your course code, title & date must match exactly what you are taking

Step 3

Request Tuition Assistance
Both degree plan and course enrollments must be present in ArmyIgnitED before requesting TA.You will then select your registered courses in ArmyIgnitED to request funding. This must be completed at least 10 days (5 business days) prior to the start of class.

Upload Screenshot of Approval
Once your TA has been approved in IgnitED, please upload a screenshot showing the approval into the TA Authorization placeholder for the term

Student Portal

NOTE: Exception to Policy Requests (ETP)

ETP is a temporary measure put in place by the Army during the migration from GoArmyEd to ArmyIgnitED to secure TA funding. If you are having issues with your IgnitED portal, please reach out to us immediately to request the ETP. Please note that this exception will removed in the near future and all funding requests will be required to follow the above process.
