Impact of Failing or Withdrawing on R2T4
How much you might owe based on your Return To Title IV Calculation (aka an R2T4) can only be determined by an R2T4 processor after the withdrawal has officially taken place. The calculation considers only how long you attended what you were scheduled for in a trimester. For example, if you were scheduled to attend 100 days, and you stopped attending after only 45 days, you have "earned" 45% of the financial aid that was disbursed to you or that could have been disbursed to you.
If you fail a class but have attended all the way through to the end of the course, then you have still "earned" all of your aid and will not owe anything back for the course.
Please contact your advisor ASAP if you are considering withdrawing from a course or are worried you might fail. Your advisor will explain all of your options and help you find the best solution for your situation.
