Background

CSU-Global and NJCTL have entered into an articulation agreement which guarantees certain courses taken through NJCTL can either be transferred into CSU-Global as part of the MS-Teaching and Learning program or for just articulation of credit to receive transcripts showing college credit

Decide on Educational Path

 NJCTL students should work with their program manager (Susan Olszewski) to decide what their educational goals are and whether they will want to fully enroll with CSU-Global to enter in to the MS-Teaching and Learning program or if they intend to just have their NJCTL course work transcribed by CSU-Global to show college credit earned and receive an official transcript.

Path #1 – Credit Articulation Only

Note: This is a temporary process to be used while a more permanent application process is built for this particular group of NJCTL students.

Record Creation

  1. Students complete speical application link - provided to them by NJCTL
  2. Once the account is entered into Salesforce - Stan and Brandon review and accept to push to CNS
  3. NJCTL will send over transcripts to admissions which can be considered official.
    • Check for a “njctl.org” email address for validity.
    • If a transcript is received for a record not yet created, inform Brandon.
  4. Upload transcripts as official to student record and write NJCTL in college name
  5. Process like normal enrollment with the following information:
    • Adm Rep: Registrar Staff Group
    • Admit Decision: NSD
    • Tuition Planner : Tuition Planning Staff Group
    • Program: NDS
    • Program Version: NDS-New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning (NJCTL)
    • Financing Option: Self Pay
    • Billing Method: Standard
    • Type: Blank
    • Lead Source: New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning
    • Student Group for tracking and holds: NJCTL
  6. After enrollment is completed – update status to Credit Development
  7. Cancel AM – Admit Email, AM – Admit Letter and SS – Intro Email activities
    • *Cannot cancel the AM – Enrollment Application or FA – Consumer Activities
  8. Create activity for transcript evaluation
    • Assign to CSU-Global Transcript Eval Team
    • Subject: TR – Official Transcript Evaluation
    • Comments: Include “NJCTL” in the comments
  9. Notify Brandon that student has been enrolled

Transcript Evaluation

  1. Upon receiving the TR – Official Transcript Eval activity, Bradley will be the one completing the NJCTL evaluations
  2. Refer to most recent NJCTL MOU for a list of NJCLT courses and how they are articulated with CSU-Global
    • Note: Only 18 credits can be articulated under the current MOU agreement
  3. Official Evaluation is completed (24 hours per SLA)
  4. After the evaluation is done and the credits have been posted, set up SA - NJCTL Credits Posted activity in CNS, assign to Mary Muro
    • "Under the MOU with NJCTL, transcribed an additional 22 graduate credits at $85/credit hour. Please add transcript fee charges for $1870.00." 
  5. Student Accounts adds the charges to the student’s ledger. 
  6. Stan notifies student of next steps for paying and ordering transcripts
  7. NJCTL Student can view charges in the student portal and make payment online or over the phone by calling Student Accounts
  8. Once payment is made in full, the student will be able to order their official transcripts by emailing Registrar@csuglobal.edu with how many copies and where they need to be sent. NOTE: Cannot use the transcript ordering tool through the portal. Will not work. 


Path #2 – Enrolling into CSU-Global’s MS – Teaching and Learning program

 For NJCTL students who make the decision that they would like to enroll into the CSU-Global MS-Teaching and Learning program and take advantage of the 18 credits which can be transferred in under the partnership with NJCTL. 

*Note: All NJCTL courses should be completed before the student enrolls into the CSU-Global MSTL program

Enrollment Process

  1. NJCTL students interested in enrolling into the CSU-Global MSTL program should work with their program coordinator with assistance in getting started. They will be directed to go to the CSU-Global website to submit a Request for Information or call the admissions phone number
  2. Applicant will work with a CSU-Global Enrollment Counselor, identify themselves as a NJCTL student and discuss the program, requirements and documentation needed for admission
  3. Applicant will go through the normal enrollment process and review to be admitted into their program
  4. If approved, the applicant will be enrolled into the following:
    • Program: Teaching & Learning
    • Program Version: MS – Teaching & Learning (NJCTL)
  5. In addition to having official undergraduate transcripts sent to CSU-Global, NJCTL will provide official transcripts and send to admissions@csuglobal.edu and CC Brandon Fletcher
    • Check for a “njctl.org” email address for validity
  6. Upload transcripts as official to student record and write NJCTL in college name
  7. Create activity for transcript evaluation
    • Assign to CSU-Global Transcript Eval Team
    • Subject: TR – Official Transcript Evaluation
    • Comments: Include “NJCTL” in the comments
  8. Upon receiving the TR – Official Transcript Eval activity, Bradley will be the one completing the NJCTL evaluations
  9. Refer to most recent NJCTL MOU for a list of NJCLT courses and how they are transferred into CSU-Global
    • Only courses (18 credits) listed in the MOU are eligible for transfer under this agreement
    • 12 credits are used to fulfill the specialization requirement
    • 6 remaining credits are used to fulfill MSTL core requirements: OTL539 and OTL547
  10. Once the student is fully admitted and the official evaluation has been completed, they are ready to start their program like any regular MSTL student and will be advised on completing their remaining core requirements
    • Reminder: No additional specialization will be required.
