What is SHRM?

Society For Human Resource Management (SHRM)

Founded in 1948, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest HR membership organization devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries, SHRM is the leading provider of resources to serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of human resource management.

SHRM believes the best and the brightest talent should be represented in the HR profession, and an important step in that endeavor is to obtain a well-rounded and robust undergraduate and graduate education in human resources. Towards that objective, SHRM created the HR Curriculum Guidebook to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

SHRM has acknowledged that CSU-Global’s Bachelor and Master programs in Human Resources fully align with its HR Curriculum Guidebook and, thus, are among the select colleges and universities whose degree programs cover not only the basics for a traditional, transactional HR role, but acknowledge and teach the importance of HR’s strategic role in organizations.

CSU-Global is among the approximately 250 elite colleges and universities to receive this designation, attesting to its program being aligned with SHRM Curriculum Guide.
