Course Materials

Many CSU Global courses offer e-books through Inclusive Access. This allows you the ability to access your course material from the first day of class, avoiding the hassle of waiting for a physical textbook to ship. Course e-books often cost half (or less) of the purchased textbook. This partnership is designed to give you:

  • Day one access to course materials
  • Reduced textbook costs (for pricing, visit the Booklist)
  • Text and note search functionality
  • Textbook access on any device and platform

One way to determine whether your course uses e-content is by looking at the CSU Global Booklist, which is linked in the student portal under "Booklist and Course Materials." The booklist will indicate that the book is offered by Barnes & Noble as seen below. That means charges are automatically applied to your CSU Global ledger card if you do not opt-out of the e-book option.  If you miss the opt-out deadline, please contact your Success Counselor for late opt-out options.

Once you have access to your course, you can view the e-content by clicking on "Course Materials" on the left-hand menu. From there, you can access your course materials by clicking on "Read Now."

Please note that some course materials do not offer the option to opt out, as you will have course content included with the course e-book access:

You are not required to use the e-book Inclusive Access, and can opt-out during the first seven (7) days of the term (unless the Booklist states you cannot opt out). To opt-out, you will select "Course Materials" from Canvas, then select the "Want to Opt Out?" button.

You have the ability to opt back in during the first seven (7) days of the term, in the event you change your mind.

Your access to the e-book will be good for the rental period that is listed on the Booklist, typically 180 days, but it does vary. You can print from most e-books. Printing works best as a supplement to your e-book, allowing you to make study guides or additions to assignments that you need to turn in for classes.  If your e-book does not have page numbers, you will not be able to print from it.

To print from the Yuzu Web Reader, you must first display the Book Tools. Click the ^ icon scrubber bar to display the book tools. Locate and click the Print icon (). A dialog box will appear. Books have print limits that start from 2 pages and up (determined by the publisher). The print dialog box will advise you on the print limit for your title. Select your page range and click Print.

PLEASE NOTE: Print limits are for each instance of clicking Print.
