Military Deferments

Military Deferments

Students who are using military benefits will see payments come in at various times over the course of a term or even after a term ends.  Depending on the specific military benefit you are using, you may be placed into a military account status, allowing additional time for payments to be received.  This is done to avoid placing a military student in a past due status, unnecessarily placing a registration hold on their account or removing them from future courses.

A number of military benefits are received within the term dates, such as Chapter 31, Chapter 33 and a most Tuition Assistance benefits.  Others can take longer though, such as Army Tuition Assistance.  If VA Benefits or most TA Benefits are being used to cover school costs then tuition is typically deferred 45 days after the end of the term, at which point, payment is due regardless of funding received.
