Directory and Non-Directory Information

As a student your record is protected by The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, better known as FERPA. Only you will be able to access private academic and financial information such as grades, tuition payments, course schedule and more. 

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) allows schools to disclose, without consent, directory information, collectively or individually. You may request that your directory information not be released without prior written consent by submitting a Directory Block Request form located in the Document Center of your student portal. The following is considered directory information:

  • Student Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Number(s)
  • Email Address
  • Degrees, Honors and Awards Received
  • Date and Place of Birth
  • Major Field of Study
  • Dates of Attendance
  • Grade Level
  • Previous Institutions Attended
  • Enrollment Status (undergraduate or graduate, full or part time)

All other information, including  grades, registered courses, academic performance and financial information are considered NON-DIRECTORY information and cannot be released to anyone except the student without a Student Consent for Release of Records on file. 

*If you have a Directory Block on file please be aware your name will not be listed in any graduation information such as commencement programs. If you wish to remove the Directory Block to have your name listed in commencement material please email your request to the Registrar at registrar@csuglobal.edu *
