What is SAI?

SAI stands for Student Aid Index. This is a number that represents the data that you entered into the FAFSA. This number summarizes and standardizes the complex information you entered into the FAFSA.

A student with a low SAI demonstrates “financial need” and may be eligible for subsidized loans and Pell Grant depending on their course load. The report that is sent to CSU Global by Federal Student Aid after a student completes the FAFSA will indicate to CSU Global if you are eligible for the Pell Grant. Students with a high SAI are not eligible for Pell grant.
