EFC stands for Estimated Family Contribution. This is a number that represents the data that you entered into the FAFSA. This number summarizes and standardizes the complex information you entered into the FAFSA.
A student with a low EFC (0-6206) demonstrates “financial need” and may be eligible for subsidized loans and Pell Grant depending on their course load. Students with a higher EFC (6207-999999) are not eligible for Pell grant.
