What does it mean if I'm selected for verification?

The Department of Education selects a random sample of students for a FAFSA review process called verification.  The purpose is to find and resolve errors or conflicting information entered into the FAFSA.  If you have been selected for verification, no worries!  At CSU-Global, the verification process has been streamlined and now takes place through the Verification Portal, which you can access through the student portal by clicking on the My Account and Financial Aid tab at the top followed by FAFSA Verification:

If this is your first time logging into the Verification Portal, you will need to create a new account.  You'll want to enter your information exactly as it was entered into the FAFSA. You will be instructed to use your CSU-Global email address and will be able to enter the Verification portal using single sign-on in the future, as long as you first sign into the Student Portal.
